Praise
Singers
These fellows are similar to the Mariachis in the Hispanic
culture. These melody makers are usually of the Yoruba
tribe. They sing songs of praises and prayers at gatherings
in return for gifts and pay.
The drums they are holding are known as "talking
drums" because of the way various sounds are created
using them. I was fascinated by the performance and entertaining
ability of these men during my stay in Lagos.
